Be The Media Limited is an artist management company run by Chris Butler. Chris started out in the music industry working at Polydor Records promoting the back catalogue of James Brown and Roy Ayers, also working on bands such as The Cure and Talk Talk. He went on to start his own promotion company in 1993 called Whitenoise which was regarded as the best specialist radio and club promo company during those halcyon days and was responsible for promoting Portishead, Massive Attack, Carl Craig and the Planet E label, Mo Wax, DJ Shadow, Underworld, The Chemical Brothers, Paul Weller, Primal Scream, Ninja Tune and many more incredible artists and labels. He sold the company in 2008 and formed Be The Media as a management company, the name Be The Media is inspired by the Jello Biafra quote “Don’t hate the media become the media”.

Past management clients include Roisin Murphy who, during our time managing her, was a Mercury Music Prize nominee for the first time in her career, X-Press 2 who received a Ivor Novello songwriting award for the massive international hit “Lazy” featuring David Byrne and seminal UK DJ and remixer Ashley Beedle and Steve Mason for his solo career 2009 – 2019 on Domino Records.

Current management clients are Hollie Cook (Merge), Charlotte Dos Santos, Dj /Producer Kim Ann Foxman, Mind Enterprises (Because Music).
